York Universe

York UniverseYork Universe is an astronomy and astrophysics program on the internet radio station Astronomy.FM that broadcasts live each Monday night at 9:00pm EST (GMT -5). It is based out of the York University Astronomical Observatory in Toronto, Ontario and I happily play co-host a couple times per month.

It is actually little-known that York University has an Observatory – but indeed it actually has two domes – one with a 40cm scope and one with a rather ancient 60cm. The York Observatory is primarily used as a teaching tool, though in the process some “real” research is done.

During each show, the fine folks (mostly students working towards their degrees) at the York Observatory also operate an OPV (Online Public Viewing), which you can access here.
